The book - Development of Cultural and Memory Tourism in Angola: The Slave Route - was launched on Saturday, May 11th, as announced by the National Museum of Natural History of the University of Lisbon, the launch of the book by researcher Afonso Vita , started at 5:30 pm as scheduled until 7 pm, check out the images below:
 

The Museum welcomes Angolan researcher Afonso Vita for the launch of his book "Development of Cultural and Memory Tourism in Angola: the Slave Route".

SYNOPSIS:

The reconstitution of the geography of slave routes in Angola and their transformation into places of interest for tourism through the practice of memory tourism, will awaken Angolan society to its multiform and multidimensional historical past, as it influenced and galvanized universal history which will consequently contribute to improving the living conditions of local populations. This multidimensional space of an international nature will bring together and bring together the African diaspora in the same geographic space through the biannual International Festival of Encounter and Reencounter of Africanity in Angola, or simply “The Yalankuwu Festival”, which will serve as a platform or mechanism for attracting and capturing tourists and visitors to enjoy the wonders of the lands of Nimi A Lukeni, Nzinga Mbandi, Kimpa Vita and Nsaku Né Vunda or Dom António Manuel “NEGRITA”.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Afonso Henriques dos Santos (NITO) Of Angolan nationality, he is from Mbanza-A-Kongo, has a PhD in Human Geography applied to Tourism from the University of Coimbra, with the thesis “Development of Cultural and Memory Tourism in Angola - The Slave Route.” He also holds a Mater of Business Administration from Florida Metropolitan and Management of Tourism and Hotel Companies from the Institut Superieur Internationel du Tourisme de Tanger-Kingdom of Morocco. He was an employee at the Wyndhaw Palace Hotel, at Walt Disney World in Orlando, United States of America. In Angola he worked at the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism as advisor to the Minister, National Director of Hotel Infrastructures and National Director of Hotels and Similar. After changing his name to Ministry of Tourism, he was National Director of Qualification of Infrastructure and Tourist Products. He currently holds the position of Director of the Institute for Tourism Promotion, a body supervised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
